DegreesInc, Brand Marketing to the Alternative Youth Culture
Driven by tremendous marketing demand, Gateway Arts founder, Dave Carlson announces the launching of DegreesInc, the soon to be premier Southern California design agency focusing on brand acceleration in the alternative youth and action sports markets. Plans are in the works already to open offices in Asia and New York to serve the international marketing community with creative services that include brand strategy and creation, sponsored event marketing, advertising/PR, film production, retail packaging, innovative brand promotions, product design and consultation.
While DegreesInc expands the agencys vision, Gateway Arts remains in its commitment to the corporate clients that have been the foundation of this business for over ten years. A full staff of talented designers and marketing strategists will continue to focus on positioning mainstream businesses for success through creating the marketing tools that will drive their growth. In the end, this addition will only enhance the energy of this agency and provide increased value to all clients within our agency structure.
I really believe that if we are going to continue to lead, we must change the business model for our agency. Our clients are asking for all aspects of design and marketing, including film production and even manufacturing, remarked Carlson. With Carlsons personal knowledge of these youth markets born out of his passion for skating and snowboarding, DegreesInc is a natural progression of the energy and creativity that has driven the agency for the past 13 years. It has become more and more evident to me that our agency is at its best when focused on lifestyles we live, Carlson continued. We understand the cool factor and thats the message that is accelerating these action sports brands.
DegreesInc will also be adding to their team of specialists, Rob Wickens. Rob brings 10+ years as a Successful Media Producer, Marketing Specialist and Event Coordinator in the Action Sports Industry. He has produced shows for Invert TV, BlueTorch, 54321, Speedvision, Motoworld, Project Detention and Viacom, written and photographed stories for many national and international action sports periodicals and co-produced top action sports videos including Travis Pastranas Revelation 199 the Mini Warriors series,How I Wasted My Summer (BMX) and GromAgeddon. He has also assisted in event coordination with multiple industry events including Soul Bowl, King of Dirt and Gravity Games as well as events for Dog Town and Z boys, Apple Computers and Cypress Hill. He was in charge of Marketing for PointXCamp as well as assistant director during it first two seasons.
DegreesInc has already secured several new accounts as testament to this belief. The Sports Authority, the largest sporting goods retailer has hired 540° Inc. to position several shoe brands and sports equipment for their private label division. Vivitar, maker of digital cameras, hired our team to create an international retail packaging targeting the tween market.
